  1. I have just been writing up a comparative study: two disabled people – one on services one on Direct Payments. The difference in Quality of Life was astonishing – and cost no more in Direct Payments, because the Local Authority made it twice as expensive by demanding two people at all times! Want to cut costs and empower people? Start here!
It males no sense to keep our citizens imprisoned by cutting DLA. I mean, we are paying all real offenders in prison £25.00 per week – on top of food ,board, heating and training.
What do we do to those who have committed no crime?

  2. I DONT THINK THAT IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT PEOPLE DO CARE BUT THEY JUST DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE CUTS MEAN TO DISABLED PEOPLE IF YOU CANT GO OUT BY YOURSELF OR LOOK AFTER YOURSELF THE CUTS MEAN SO MUCH MORE

  3. No matter what lies ahead re cuts to services and benefits…no matter what new schemes are introduced…the one thing that remains constant is the support provided by families. Yet time and time again, both past and present govts, have FAILED to address these issues.

Some of the Coaltions’ proposals are going to place enormous pressure on disabled people and carers. The tightening of criteria to access care will lead to more people reaching crisis stage sooner. Added pressure on family carers will result in even more people needing support.

‘WE are actually in this together’ , not the govt.

  4. what we have to realise, as disabled people and carers ( i’m both ) is that no one outside of us cares. no one at.even the bbc are putting out anti disabled/pro cuts propaganda now on the disablity pages on their text services so how can we win. the papers are against us too so in effect we’re boned. because we can’t work we aren’t wanted its that simple, all our government wants is for us to die and be very cheap funerals.
