Hull and East Riding Event: MP Question Time

When: Friday 26 October 2012, 9:30 – 12:30
Where: The Octagon, Walker Street, Hull, HU3 2RA

This free event aims to bring disabled people and the organisations that work with us together from across Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire to make it clear to the Government the strength of our feeling against their unjustified and unfair cuts to benefits and services. The event is being led by Mark Baggley from Choices and Rights Disability Coalition. Disabled people will be able to ask questions about welfare reform to a panel chaired by Helen Schofield from North Bank Forum and featuring local politicians Diana Johnson MP and Karl Turner MP alongside other expert panelists.

The agenda for the day and a full list of panelists will be published in early October. Places are limited so please call Choices and Rights Disability Coalition on 01482 878778 to book your place.

Please send any questions that you have for the panel to Tracy Dearing prior to the event.

  1. its really good that this meeting is happening,we live in the midlands though,so its a bit to far,if there was any like this nearer to home would go. we have been in a discource with our MP and local authority. have lived at our present home for nearly 4 years, household carer,2 severely disabled family members,2 children.the rent is going to be cut ,it would have been cut by now, only for the fact of housing anniversary. recieve housing benefit due to been paid carers allowance and income support.already had direct payments cut on care package last year, its due for reassessment this week, havent heaed from them yet about coming out to do assessment, its due on 28th september, got a horrible feeling it will be taken away all together.good luck .

    • Thanks for your support for the campaign. There will be information about a Hardest Hit meeting in Birmingham posted this week and another meeting is also being planned in the East Midlands. Hope you will be able it to one of those events.
